Dear Future Whales,
I won’t sugarcoat it. Market sentiment is quite bad and the recent MemeCoin mania appears to be pushing gwei transaction fees or gas costs on Ethereum higher. These additional gas fees naturally spill over into the NFT market as buyers with smaller bankrolls find it hard to justify spending even $50 on an NFT when the transaction fee for it is likely higher than that.
In today’s note, we cover an upcoming NFT mint that should draw strong interest because of the brand name involved, while also not incurring large gas fees. I recommend reading the note on Pocket Universe to avoid a new scam. Lastly, I share some reminders and free OAT claim.
Summary:
Cryptoys: Star Wars Edition is Here!
Pocket Universe: Beware of This New Scam
Web3 Academy: Onchain Activity with Zapper
Free OAT Powered by Galxe
Cryptoys: Star Wars Edition
I shared Cryptoys a few months back as I was all in on the “Masters of the Universe” Edition, but a “Star Wars” collection is on an entirely different level! On May 24th, you have the opportunity to mint Darth Vader, Luke, and Princess Leia as part of a 30,000-piece collection.
Cryptoys has done a great job in creating an immersive, web2-friendly purchasing experience. These aren’t usually expensive to mint and you can even pay with a credit card. I will be minting a few of these in the hopes of grabbing an “Ultra Grail” which makes up less than 1%!
Pocket Universe: There is a New Scam!
The Pocket Universe tool is highly recommended as it explains what’s about to happen regarding a web3 transaction before you approve it. Tools like it are a must in order to stay a step ahead of scammers.
If you’ve been using this tool already, then make sure you’ve updated your extension’s version right away. The scammers are trying to fight back with methods to bypass tools like Pocket Universe. The latest edition can be downloaded here.
Web3 Academy: Zapper Notes
Web3 Academy is one of my go-to resources for great weekly podcasts and written content covering the latest in the Web3 and NFT space. I recommend reading this week’s note which highlights “Zapper.”
If you’re an active NFT trader, then Zapper is a must-use tool. The Web3 Academy team shared the Web3 Founder’s list. This is a good tool to know about to ensure that one of your favorite influencers isn’t pumping and dumping on you.

Cryptocurrency is a digital representation of value that functions as a medium of exchange, a unit of account, or a store of value, but it does not have legal tender status. Cryptocurrencies are sometimes exchanged for U.S. dollars or other currencies around the world, but they are not generally backed or supported by any government or central bank. Their value is completely derived by market forces of supply and demand, and they are more volatile than traditional currencies. The value of cryptocurrency may be derived from the continued willingness of market participants to exchange fiat currency for cryptocurrency, which may result in the potential for permanent and total loss of value of a particular cryptocurrency should the market for that cryptocurrency disappear. Cryptocurrencies are not covered by either FDIC or SIPC insurance. Legislative and regulatory changes or actions at the state, federal, or international level may adversely affect the use, transfer, exchange, and value of cryptocurrency.
Investing in cryptocurrencies comes with a number of risks, including volatile market price swings or flash crashes, market manipulation, and cybersecurity risks. In addition, cryptocurrency markets and exchanges are not regulated with the same controls or customer protections available in equity, option, futures, or foreign exchange investing. There is no assurance that a person who accepts a cryptocurrency as payment today will continue to do so in the future.
Investors should conduct extensive research into the legitimacy of each individual cryptocurrency, including its platform, before investing. The features, functions, characteristics, operation, use and other properties of the specific cryptocurrency may be complex, technical, or difficult to understand or evaluate. The cryptocurrency may be vulnerable to attacks on the security, integrity or operation, including attacks using computing power sufficient to overwhelm the normal operation of the cryptocurrency’s blockchain or other underlying technology. Some cryptocurrency transactions will be deemed to be made when recorded on a public ledger, which is not necessarily the date or time that a transaction may have been initiated.
· Investors must have the financial ability, sophistication and willingness to bear the risks of an investment and a potential total loss of their entire investment in cryptocurrency.
· An investment in cryptocurrency is not suitable or desirable for all investors.
· Cryptocurrency has limited operating history or performance.
· Fees and expenses associated with a cryptocurrency investment may be substantial.
There may be risks posed by the lack of regulation for cryptocurrencies and any future regulatory developments could affect the viability and expansion of the use of cryptocurrencies. Investors should conduct extensive research before investing in cryptocurrencies.
