Dear Future Whales,
In today's note, I share some bits of timely news about Base and MetaMask. I also include a Spaces session from this morning on the tokenization of watches. Lastly, I recommend a podcast featuring the Founder of Courtyard.io. Let's dive in.

Web3 News for Base & MetaMask
Spaces Recommendation with Watches.io and RWA.World

Web3 News
Web3 Payments with Web3 Ease.
MetaMask, Mastercard, and Baanx (Crypto Life) have launched a pilot program for the MetaMask Card, a groundbreaking payment card that allows direct crypto spending from your MetaMask wallet. Users in the EU and UK can use this card for everyday purchases wherever Mastercard is accepted, bypassing the need for a bank. Acting like a debit card, it lets users spend their crypto while keeping control over their funds until the point of payment. The pilot is currently limited, with future plans for broader availability. Check your MetaMask Portfolio for a "Card" tab to see if you're eligible and follow the instructions to set up your card.
"Basenames" are here!
If you've used ENS, RNS, Clusters, or other name services to make your Web3 wallet address more recognizable, you understand the value of having an on-chain identity. When Basenames launch, all names will be available through a Dutch auction, with prices gradually dropping over 36 hours. This approach ensures everyone has a fair chance to claim a name they want and helps prevent bots from grabbing them too quickly. Follow @Base on X.com for official announcements.
Recommended Spaces: Tokenization of Time Pieces
This morning, I co-hosted a Spaces session with RWA.World featuring Jake Plonskier, the Founder of Watches.io. We conducted a deep dive into the watch industry, discussing new manufacturers, models to watch out for, and more.
The session is about 55 minutes long, but I recommend jumping to the last 40 minutes to hear Jake's insights on watch brands he believes will become future collector's items.
Recommended Podcast: Courtyard Takes the Lead in RWA
Courtyard.io has experienced rapid growth, with a monthly increase of over 60%, and is now leading in volume on marketplaces like OpenSea. If you're interested in learning more about RWA collectibles, this is a must-download.
What I enjoyed most about this pod was the story on how it all started for Nicolas Le Jeune. If you don’t have time for the full 30 minutes, then start at Minute 15:00 and enjoy a great Web3 Founder story.
